Meeting Description: The q Undergraduate Association for Linguistics at Michigan State University (qUALMS) is pleased to announce the seventh annual Great Lakes Expo for Experimental and Formal Undergraduate Linguistics (GLEEFUL). GLEEFUL aims to bring together undergraduate linguists from across the continent to present high quality, original research to their peers in order to gain experience and a greater appreciation for the many ways to study linguistics and language-related fields.

GLEEFUL was first held in 2011 and is in its 7th consecutive year. GLEEFUL has historically been held on the same weekend as MSULC, making it possible for visitors to attend both conferences. Each conference features a keynote speaker who is a current researcher in linguistics.

Additionally, qUALMS is pleased to announce our continuation of our workshop series for GLEEFUL. These workshops are aimed at undergraduates looking to improve their skill set by exposing them to current techniques and ways to approach linguistic problems.

GLEEFUL 2017 will be held on April 22-23, 2017 in East Lansing, Michigan. For abstracts we are looking for high quality, original, undergraduate research in the broad field of linguistics and language sciences.
