Meeting Description: We are pleased to announce the 12th Lancaster University International Postgraduate Conference in Linguistics and Language Teaching which will take place at Lancaster University on Monday 26 June.

This conference is designed to give linguistics postgraduates from various areas in linguistics and language teaching/assessment an opportunity to present and discuss their research in an informal and intellectually stimulating setting. The conference is organized by postgraduate students under the auspices of the Department of Linguistic and English Language, Lancaster University. This year the conference is held within the framework of the Intellectual Party 26-27 June. See for more information about the conference programme and to submit an abstract.

Information about Lancaster’s Intellectual Party/Summer Conference 26-27 June 2017:

This two day event runs from the 26 to 27 of June 2017 and is a fantastic opportunity to meet with research students from around the world, discuss your work in a friendly and encouraging environment and engage with some of Lancaster’s renowned academic staff. The Intellectual Party is more than just another conference – it combines academic challenge with a lot of fun as well!

Students from Lancaster University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences would like to invite other PhDs/MAs to an Intellectual Party/Summer Conference incorporating:

Dedicated workshops
The Linguistics and Language Teaching Conference
Open sessions
Themed panels

In 2017 we will be holding a ‘Three Minute Thesis’ competition with a grand prize of £25 up for grabs, as well as great runner up prizes for the most creative, entertaining and intriguing three minute presentations. If you think you would like try out a novel and fun way of communicating your research be sure to register your interest when you submit your abstract: we will then email you further details.

There will be a chance to join other Intellectual Party goers in a game of floorball (don’t forget your trainers!), a BBQ dinner and a mass book launch. The two days will be brought to a close with a spectacular Grand Finale.

The registration fee for non-Lancaster students is £68 which includes refreshments, BBQ dinner, wine reception and lunches during the two days of the conference.

Places are only available to those students whose abstracts are accepted.
