The Language and Speech (https://laslab.org/) research group invites you to send abstracts for the upcoming international conference: "Additional Language Learning by Young Learners". This conference invites researchers, educators, and practitioners interested in various issues related to the learning of any additional language in primary education (6-12 years old).

2nd Call for Papers:

--> The DEADLINE for abstract submissions has been extended to 1 June. <--

We invite contributions for oral presentations (20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for the question period). The language of the conference is English.

Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborative work
- Corrective feedback
- Critical language pedagogy
- Grammar learning
- Extra-mural activities and their impact on additional language learning
- Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)
- Ethics and research with children
- Individual differences affecting additional language learning (engagement, metalinguistic awareness, willingness to communicate, among others)
- Innovations in the learning of additional languages
- Multilingualism and Intercultural education
- Primary school teacher education and training
- Task-based language learning in primary school

Proposals should include:
- Full Name(s) of Presenter(s) and Affiliation(s).
- Title of Presentation.
- 300-word Abstract (no reference list needed).

Submissions will be open until 1st June, 2024. Acceptance will be
notified on 15th June, 2024.
